The fire installation seen below was hand painted and installed as a center piece in the SOMArts Cultural Center Gallery during a day long performing and visual arts exhibition. The fire is an invitation for people to gather, talk story and connect. 

 

Behind the installation is a painting titled "The Waves that Guide Us" painted by The Bay Baes Muralista collective including Sami See, Yuka Ezoe, Monica Magtoto, Sarah Sisken, Marina Perez-Wong, Elaine Chu and Priya Handa. This piece was in celebration of Juana Tello, Nancy Pili, and Mama Christina, 3 women leaders of San Francisco based movements for social justice including the "Frisco 500".
